OOTD | Bright Coral Maxi Skirt

Just thought I'd give a quick glimpse into what I was wearing yesterday to run errands! On a cooler day I love pairing the skirt with a leather jacket to tone it down and give it a little edge.

Skirt - Forever 21 | Cardigan - Foreign Exchange | Necklace, Sunglasses - Nordstrom

I love this skirt, it's so simple and bright

DIY | Spray Painted Frames

A couple of days ago I was really in the mood to do some crafting but I had no idea what to do. Suddenly it dawned on me to do something decorative for my future apartment (!!). I love wall art but it's usually so expensive that I can't see myself spending much money on it when there are other things like shoes and makeup that are much more fun to buy.

This was such a cheap an easy project, and I'm probably going to make more!

You need:
- Cheap Frames (I got mine at the thrift store for 25 cents each)
- Pretty Wrapping Paper (World Market has so many cute patterns)
- Krylon Sterling Silver Spray Paint
- Krylon Black Spray Paint

Start by taking the glass and preexisting paper out of the frames, then lay the frames on some newspaper in a well ventilated area and spray paint them.

While I was waiting for the paint to dry, I cleaned the glass and cut the wrapping paper to fit the frames. For some of the larger frames, I created white interior borders out of printer paper for dimension.

I love my new frames and I can't wait to make more!

The finished product!

OOTD | Patterned Pants

Tribal Print Pants - H&M | Black Wedge Sandal - Target
The weather has been absolutely gorgeous here in San Diego and I've been taking advantage of it by going outside as often as possible, even if it's just to get the mail! These patterned pants are one of my go-tos this summer because they're super comfortable and just plain fun. I like to pair them with a simple white button down and some black sandals so that they are the focal point of the outfit.

Nails - Capri
Lips - MAC So Chaud

I've been trying to be more bold with my makeup lately, especially as summer is a much more forgiving season for experimentation. I went with an orange lip (!!) and kept the rest of my face pretty bare, just some eyeliner and mascara. With a bold lip in the daytime it's best to keep everything else really simple.

BIRCHBOX | July Unboxing

I was super excited to get my second Birchbox in the mail the other day. The main reason why I wanted a subscription was to get me through those times during the school year when I'm so busy with everything that I barely have time to go to CVS, let alone Ulta or Sephora. Sometimes a girl just needs her beauty fix, so why not just get it right to my door! This month's theme is Power Play and it's dedicated to helping you make the most out of every minute. I decided to rank each product out of 5 hearts.

The Opened Box

1. Benefit It's Potent! Eye Cream - This eye cream is supposed to brighten dark circles and smooth lines. I don't really have dark circles so I haven't noticed anything in that department, but I will say that it's a really smooth cream that goes on nicely and does moisturize well. ♥♥
2. Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect - A leave in conditioner that protects against UV rays. I didn't really try this out because I'm into natural hair products and I already have my routine together, but I will most definitely try it out just for the UV protection. I always forget that the hair needs protection from the sun! ♥♥
3. DDF Acne Control Treatment - Pretty self explanatory. I was a bit suspicious because it didn't have that strong smell that acne products as I remembered them had, but I've been using it for a few nights on the problem spots that have cropped up in the past couple of days and they seem to have gone down quite a bit. The sample size was quite large too. Always a plus. ♥♥♥
4. InStain Long-Wearing Powder Staining Blush - They included this in the color Swiss Dot which was a beautiful coral peach that looked nice and natural, even on my darker skin.♥♥♥
5. Birchbox Bobby Pins - These are so cute! I love the color I got and they instantly make any hairstyle look cute and put together. I don't feel like I have to hide my pins anymore with these. ♥♥♥♥♥

Overall I think I got a good box this month!

NAILS | Hot Colors for the Summer

I am so glad that summer is finally here! I know it's a little weird to say, considering it's been summer for at least a month now, but I feel like I'm finally getting in the groove of it all. No high level commitments from school, no homework, and no iCal filled within an inch of life. I feel free! The best part about it is being able to wear bright colors in all combinations sans shame, because hey, it's summer right?
So here are my top nail polish picks for the season. All Essie.

BLANC

White hot is all I can say about this color. It's such a beautiful and crisp color for the season and looks good with everything. Be careful not to get this one dirty though because white really does show everything!

CALIFORNIA CORAL

This color is so fun for those days when I'm feeling a little girlie. It's pretty, but it still packs a punch while managing to be a little laid back. Perfect for hanging around town or going to lunch with friends.
*note* The color is slightly more creamy than it appears in the picture

CAPRI

When I bought this color, I was looking for the perfect orange to add to my collection. I think I've found it! This fiery orange color makes for a bold statement nail that just screams summer. My favorite thing to do is to put Blanc (or any white nail polish) underneath is because it makes the color look so bright and is a great way to make it look just like it does in the bottle. Just like California Coral, this color is a creamier color than it appears on the left.

WHERE'S MY CHAUFFEUR

I absolutely love this color, it's gorgeous. For me it's the perfect shade of turquoise, not too green, not too blue, and will look great with any skin tone. For reference, it's a bit darker than the ever popular Turquoise and Caicos. It goes on pretty opaquely, two coats is all you need!
